Dear Parents,
Happy Holidays!
As the end of the year is quickly approaching it also means that the Nutley HS Winter Guard competition is right around the corner! This year I have the privilege of co-chairing the competition with George Blazeski, as I was also the Student Chair of our first competition helping Nadine Meola in January 2004.
Aurilla and I are closely working together to make this competition a success and hopefully no snow will come our way as it did last year. We currently have 15 units, as of tonight (12/21) coming to our show on Saturday, January 21, 2006, which is a great turnout for the first show of the competition season!
Unfortunately we can’t do this alone and desperately need everyone’s (parents & students) help to make this a successful event for our students and those visiting the Nutley High School campus.
This is where you guys come in. We need parent volunteers for guard check-in, 50/50 and air grams, spectator ticket sales, hall monitors, cafeteria cashiers/workers, etc. (these will be assigned once a full list of parents is compiled). Also we need parents to bake baked goods (cookies, brownies, etc.). In addition we need students (other than our WG students) to be escorts for our visiting guard units to show them to their assigned rooms and to the warm up areas (similar to a band competition).
Please e-mail me back at sscarpelli@usip.edu, as soon as possible with the following information:
· Your Name, e-mail address, and phone number.
· Able to Parent Volunteer and a suggested area you may want to volunteer at?
· Able to Bake Baked Goods and want you will bake?
· My child is able to be a Student Escort and their name.
· Able to attend meeting on 1/10 (see below).
There will be a mandatory meeting for all parent volunteers immediately after the Music Boosters’ general meeting on Tuesday, January 10 in Music Room 104 at the HS. The NMBA meeting begins at 7:30pm. Additional info on volunteer’s assignments, logistics, etc. will be discussed.
Thank you so much for your cooperation and see you on January 10th! If have any questions please feel free to e-mail me at anytime!
I sincerely hope you and your family have a Happy Holiday!!!!!
-Sal
